Welsh woman found to have 38 pork tapeworm larvae in her brain after a 2007 trip to India
The Indian Express—Lowri Denman, a Welsh woman, first discovered a metre-long tapeworm in a restaurant toilet and initially dismissed the incident. Within months she developed severe headaches, seizures, and psychosis; brain scans eventually revealed 38 pork tapeworm larvae embedded in her brain. The cause was traced to her 2007 trip to India, but the diagnosis did not come until three years later, after years of unexplained neurological symptoms.
