New York City prepares to celebrate the Knicks with a ticker-tape parade

Nearly one million fans line NYC's Canyon of Heroes for first Knicks championship parade in 53 years

Washington PostNew York City threw its first ticker-tape parade for the Knicks since 1973, with close to one million fans packing lower Manhattan as NYPD deployed 10,000 officers along the Canyon of Heroes route. The MTA ran a vintage 1973 R32 subway car from Harlem to escort fans downtown, and celebrities including Spike Lee, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller and Chris Rock were spotted along the route. Alicia Keys performed at City Hall, and Mayor Zohran Mamdani gave players keys to the city. Viewing areas filled by 7:30 a.m., and the team also made a separate visit to the White House.
