Apple Releases Foundation Models Framework and New Icon Composer 2 for Developers
9to5Mac—Apple has launched two new tools for developers: the Foundation Models framework, which provides on-device access to Apple Intelligence capabilities for app integration, and Icon Composer 2 alongside SF Symbols 8 in beta. The Foundation Models framework allows developers to run Apple's AI models locally without cloud calls, a privacy-forward approach that distinguishes it from cloud-dependent AI APIs. Icon Composer 2 and SF Symbols 8 are available in developer betas ahead of the fall software releases.
