Baby Coyote Freed After Rescuers Spend 2.5 Hours Removing Hundreds of Cactus Spines

A 4-week-old coyote pup was found immobile and in shock after becoming covered in hundreds of barbed cholla cactus needles from nose to tail in Arizona. Rescuers at the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center sedated the animal and spent two and a half hours using metal clamps to remove the spines one by one. The pup made a full recovery.
